This journey will stay with me for a very long time.

This Ethiopia experience was not just a photography trip, it was so much more. Days filled with presence, to see what it means to truly be with people rather than observe from the outside. Being welcomed into communities so openly, witnessing daily life, beauty, ritual, strength and creativity in its raw form… it shifted something deep in me.

From a photography perspective, it stretched me in the best way , not just technically, but emotionally. I found myself photographing less for an image and more from connection. Some of my most meaningful frames came from moments of stillness, eye contact, shared laughter, and simply sitting alongside people with no agenda.

Giovanna and Krista, the way you hold space, honour the land and the people, and guide with such integrity made this experience feel safe, respectful and deeply human. I never once felt rushed or disconnected, everything unfolded in its own time, which is such a gift in our fast-paced world.

I returned home changed. grateful. grounded. With a deeper appreciation for community, simplicity, creativity, and the privileges we often take for granted. It was about witnessing resilience, beauty, art and connection in its truest form and walking away with the gifts of once in a lifetime memories and images.
